Darrell Swanson has 30 years of experience as principal and owner of an architectural firm that has practiced in Alberta, Canada, and in the states of Texas, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and Montana. He has demonstrated direct hands-on
design and administration experience on a wide range of complex projects that range in size from
100 S.F. to 750,000 S.F.
In addition to his architectural education and experience, he has formal education in Building Technology, previous employment in the Army Corps of Engineers, military service as well as working experience as a journeyman carpenter, contractor and developer. This, together with comprehensive administration work while providing architectural services to Government agencies, School Boards, Department of Indian Affairs, Planning Commissions, Library Administrators, and Chiefs and Councils at Indian Reserves, gives much needed insight into completing any project.

MARTIA SWANSON is one of two principal owners of Swanson Architects, Inc. formally Swanson Architectural Group. Mrs. Swanson has 30 years of experience as principal and owner of an architectural firm that has practiced in Alberta, Canada, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. She has been directly involved in research, documentation, and programming of project requirements, design criteria, interior design and furniture design.
In addition she is also responsible for administrative duties, employee management, project management, marketing and business development of the firm. Space planning, color selection, building materials, and kitchen and bath design are focus areas for Martia. She has experience with all phases of the design process including on-site measuring and data collection, programming, budget/cost estimating, interior detailing, and construction administration. One of her primary objectives is to gather and utilize information about the people who will be using the spaces so that the environments are designed to function for them and meet their needs.

HEATHER SWANSON as an interior designer utilizes architectural psychology to create environments that reflect the clients’ personality and lifestyle. Heather has experience in color selection and materials coordination, furniture and finishes selection, spatial arrangement, and presentation boards. As President of her own interior design firm, Heather completed several large residential remodel projects from design through final construction and several children’s bedrooms and playrooms. Heather has a strong background in sales and marketing. She assists the firm in planning, coordinating, and organizing, and managing corporate participation in community events and organizations. Heather assists in the development and placement of marketing materials and advertisements.
